My client, a leading Industrial Manufacturer based in Cork, is in need of a Raw Material Buyer to join their organization.

The responsibilities for the desired Raw Material Buyer include but are not limited to:
- Purchase of raw materials based on production forecasts, stock levels and SAP system requirements.
- Balances supplier capacity and internal inventory levels with requirements to support production forecasts, without disruption to the production plan.
- Leads all efforts with suppliers to address product availability issues and ensures supply constraint issues are resolved or escalated when appropriate.
- Scheduling, management and monitoring of raw materials deliveries to meet production requirements.
- To work cross functionally with key stakeholders to ensure high level of internal customer satisfaction is maintained.
- Maintain accurate item master data and price agreements within the SAP system.
- General administration of all related processes, e.g., purchase orders, order confirmations and invoicing.
- Maintain up-to-date purchase order delivery dates, for accuracy of information at all times.
- Monitor, analyse and optimise supplier delivery performance, liaise with suppliers in case of discrepancies.
- Process claims in relation to order quantity, delivery dates and packaging in cooperation with Quality Department and Goods Receiving Department.
- Identify internal and external stakeholder business needs, provide solutions, and minimise risks.
- Analyse and optimise purchasing parameter to reduce inventory levels while maintaining availability of parts.
- Other ancillary duties associated with the position.
The requirements for the desired Raw Material Buyer include:
- 3 rd level qualification in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management or Logistics is required.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience required in a purchasing role.
- Experience in Engineering / manufacturing environments is a distinct advantage.
- Experience of working with SAP or an equivalent ERP system is a distinct advantage
- Highly motivated self-starter, dependable, can manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and well developed influencing skills, with a proven ability to build, manage and maintain relationships at all levels.
- Must possess excellent planning, scheduling, negotiating and organisational skills.
- Proven record of strong attention to detail as well as excellent reporting skills.
- Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, etc.) is essential.
- Advanced skills with formulas, complex financial spreadsheets in MS Excel would be a plus.
