My client is independent power producer specialising in the development, financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of photovoltaic (solar) installations. In March 2023, they secured €300 million in funding to support its growth in solar energy and energy storage sectors. The company operates globally, with projects across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, and maintains a strong presence in Ireland and France. Due to this expansion they are looking to hire a Project Developer.

As a Project Developer you will manage the development of ground-mounted photovoltaic power plants and energy storage projects across Ireland. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer Europe, you will oversee projects from inception to “Ready to Build” (RTB), ensuring all development pillars—permitting, grid connection, land management, and energy sales—are secured.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive project progress within schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams and ensure compliance with processes and regulations.
  • Monitor project economics and negotiate lease agreements with landowners.
  • Manage third-party advisors, contractors, and external stakeholders.
  • Mitigate project risks and support EPC procurement, financing, and contract negotiations.
  • Represent the company in industry groups and contribute to project acquisitions (M&A).

Competencies:

  • Strong project management, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, regulations, and sustainability principles.
  • Effective organisational abilities to manage multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of agricultural practices and local energy regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in engineering, renewable energy, or project management.
  • Minimum 5 year's experience in renewable energy project development.
