Medium sized Co Cavan based manufacturing company currently recruiting for a Mechanical Technician for a DAYS role This is a very well-established company, in operation for 100 years with a strong and supportive culture designed to get the best out of their people in an environment that is very focused on teamwork.
YOUR NEW MECHANICAL FITTER JOB:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your main remit in the mechanical technician job will be required to undertake routine preventive maintenance and the trouble shooting of breakdowns.
Day to day some of the key elements in the mechanical technician job will include:
• Maintenance of all site machinery and equipment including conveyors, presses, pulleys etc
• Assist with the commissioning of new equipment.
• Trouble shooting and repairs of non-functioning machinery.
• Use of welding and cutting equipment.
WHATS IN IT FOR YOU:
There is a competitive salary of 32k-45k doe along with a company pension scheme which see the company contribute 4% of salary. This is a day’s Monday-Friday fitter job with an on-call rota every 3 weeks that pays €190 for being on call along with time and half and double time if and when you are called out. You will be joining a family-owned business in operation for over 100 years with very low staff turnover due to how well they treat and look after their people.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
My client is looking for mechanical technicians who have at least 1+ years relevant experience in production/manufacturing environments. You will able to prioritise your workload depending on production’s requirements on a given day, be decisive and pro-active when you need to be and have the ability to take direction.
You be a strong problem solver, quality focused with the desire to get things right, first time. Ideally, you’ll have welding experience, but this is not a must have.
