Role Overview

As a nurse within our intellectual disability services, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with diverse needs. You will work closely with our service users, their families, and a dedicated team to deliver holistic, evidence-based care that enhances quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care tailored to the needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Develop, implement, and review care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Administer medications and treatments in line with best practice and regulatory guidelines.
  • Support service users in achieving personal goals and maintaining independence.
  • Promote health, safety, and well-being through advocacy and education.
  • Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and respectful environment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, adhering to all relevant legislation and standards.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Registered Nurse with An Bord Altranais (NMBI) or eligible for registration.
  • Experience in intellectual disability services or a keen interest in this field.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to person-centered care and promoting inclusion.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of service users.
  • A full clean driver’s license is desirable but not essential.
