Operating across multiple centres, this organisation delivers essential services to individuals in need, supported by a committed workforce.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO and as a key member of the Senior Management Team, the Head of Finance will be responsible for ensuring financial compliance, robust governance, and strategic financial planning. The successful candidate will lead a finance team in managing budgeting, reporting, audits, and financial controls, ensuring the highest standards of transparency and accountability.

This position requires a strong leader who can provide both strategic insight and hands-on financial oversight, working closely with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, auditors, and funding agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance function, ensuring best practices in financial governance and compliance.
  • Develop and implement financial policies aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to support organisational goals.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, advisors, and key external stakeholders.

  • Provide leadership to the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Ensure effective financial controls, monitoring budgets and variance analysis.
  • Support senior leadership in strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • At least five years of post-qualification experience, with a minimum of three years in a leadership role.
  • Strong experience in financial planning, reporting, and budget management.
  • Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders and influence strategic decisions.
  • Exceptional leadership and team development skills.
  • Experience in the not-for-profit, charity, or healthcare sector would be an advantage.
  • Ability to manage change and drive process improvements within a financial function.

Why Join?

This is a unique opportunity to take on a leadership role within an organisation that makes a real difference. The successful candidate will contribute to financial sustainability, ensuring the continued success of vital services. With a highly engaged leadership team, a values-driven mission, and a supportive environment, this role offers both professional and personal fulfilment.
