The Role
My client, a leading corporate law firm, is urgently seeking an experienced Float Legal Secretary to join their team based in Dublin 1. This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position (1 day remote).
As the Float Legal Secretary, you will provide comprehensive legal secretarial support to solicitors across all departments, ensuring seamless administrative assistance where needed.
Tasks & Duties
- Provide secretarial support to solicitors during staff absences or high workload periods.
- Transcribe and prepare legal documents through audio typing from digital dictation.
- Manage legal files by opening, organising, scanning, filing, archiving, and retrieving documents from storage.
- Draft, edit, and format legal documents to ensure accuracy and professionalism.
- Liaise with clients and handle correspondence in a professional manner.
- Assist with court administration, including preparing court documents and assembling briefs.
- Handle invoice management and other administrative financial tasks.
- Perform additional administrative duties as required in a fast-paced legal environment.
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years legal secretary experience in a busy law firm.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Very strong MS Office & IT skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Fast and accurate typing skills (a minimum of 60 wpm)
- Excellent multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Strong ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
- Experience in litigation, corporate and banking or conveyancing is a distinct advantage.
