As one of Ireland’s most trusted names in the industry, they are looking for an Estimator to join a dynamic team. Based in the scenic Offaly/Westmeath area, you’ll become part of a close-knit, family-run SME with over 40 dedicated staff at the manufacturing site. Here, every day brings exciting new challenges and opportunities to grow.

What You'll Be Doing as an Estimator

In this pivotal role, you’ll provide accurate cost estimates and quotations for steel buildings tailored to customer specifications. You’ll collaborate with clients, production teams, and sales staff to ensure each project is feasible, cost-effective, and delivered to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating and Pricing:

  • Review customer enquiries, drawings, and specifications to prepare precise cost estimates and quotations.
  • Calculate material, labour, and overhead costs to meet project needs.
  • Provide competitive pricing for custom, modular, and standard steel buildings.

Client Collaboration:

  • Engage with clients to clarify specifications, identify needs, and address queries.
  • Ensure quotations meet customer expectations and align with project feasibility.

Technical Expertise:

  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and project plans.
  • Work closely with design and production teams to confirm structural requirements.

Supplier Coordination:

  • Source quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, steel components, and services.
  • Evaluate pricing and availability to maximize cost-efficiency.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain detailed records of quotations, estimates, and correspondence.
  • Provide regular updates on ongoing estimates, tenders, and follow-ups.

Team Collaboration:

  • Partner with sales and production teams to align cost estimations with operational capabilities.
  • Assist in preparing tenders and proposals for larger contracts.

What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to bring a blend of technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong communication skills. Here’s what we’re seeking:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator, preferably in steel construction, manufacturing, or a related industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with estimating software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients, suppliers, and team members.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on cost-effective solutions.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within steel buildings, construction, or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of steel building components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with Irish construction standards and practices.

Why Join This Company?

  • Be part of a well-established, family-run company with a strong reputation.
  • Enjoy a supportive and collaborative work environment.
  • Take on a role where no two days are the same.
  • Contribute to projects that make a real impact in the industry.
