Community Engagement Worker – Homeless and Drug Service – Dublin 8 - €31,290

Job Opportunity: Permanent full time

Location: Dublin 8

Hours: 39 hrs per week shift rota 07.00am – 9.00pm Monday to Sunday

Are you a dedicated Social Care Worker who has experience in working with families in need? Are you seeking a rewarding career in a well-established homeless and drug service? The main objective of this role is to work within the organisation’s mission by working as a collaborative community to reduce the harm caused by addiction and homelessness, minimising the impact of services on the local community, including anti-social behaviour and community engagement.

Requirements:

  • A minimum Third Level 7 Social Care Qualification.
  • A minimum 12 months’ full time experience or part time equivalent working in a similar low threshold environment.
  • Have an understanding of issues relating to National Standards for Safer Better Healthcare - an understanding of issues relating to (homelessness, mental health and substance misuse) MQI target group, their circumstances and vulnerability.
  • Have experience in dealing with de-escalating difficult situations, including but not limited to managing challenging behaviour.
  • Experience of working in a security role would be an advantage.
