FRS Recruitment is now inviting applications for the role of 'Agri Engineering Graduate' for our client, a leading Agri machinery manufacturing organisation based in Ireland. Indeed, this is a full time role based in North Tipperary and may suit candidates in the neighbouring counties of Limerick, Laois, Offaly, Clare, Galway etc

Our client is one of Ireland’s largest and most respected manufacturers of agricultural equipment, employing approximately 100 people.

Graduate Role Overview

As an Agri Graduate Engineer, you will work as part of a dynamic engineering team. Your role will involve preparing production drawings, streamlining workflows, and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of existing products, support the development of new models, and provide essential technical support to production and other departments.

Duties & Responsibilities

Process Evaluation and Improvement

- Evaluate existing manufacturing workflows to identify opportunities for improvement.

- Prioritise improvement projects based on benefit-cost ratios.

- Implement best practices on the production floor to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.

Production Support

- Provide technical support to production departments to ensure smooth operations.

- Manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and oversee material movement.

- Address and resolve production issues to minimise delays.

- Develop ergonomic processes aligned with Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S.

Design and Drafting

- Prepare and maintain design and working drawings for fabrication.

- Use 2D and 3D drafting software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor) to create accurate production drawings.

- Liaise with the design team to resolve drawing, detailing, and measurement issues.

- Complete Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for design improvements.

Collaboration and Communication.

- Work with the purchasing team to prepare quotes for special builds

- Provide technical information to sales and production teams as needed.

- Coordinate production operations considering material, labour, and equipment availability.

- Compile and submit status and performance reports to management.

Experience and Qualifications

- A minimum of a Level 8 qualification in a relevant agri/engineering field.

- A strong appreciation and understanding of agricultural machinery.

- Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.

- Excellent problem-solving skills to address production and design challenges effectively.

- Proficiency in engineering software, web-based applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and 3D design tools for design and documentation purposes.

- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and R&D.
