Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our clients leadership team. The ADON will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of outstanding patient care, supporting the nursing staff, and assisting the Director of Nursing in managing the overall operations of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Nursing in the overall management of the Step Down Facility.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
  • Support and mentor nursing staff, promoting professional development and a positive work environment.
  • Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance patient care quality.
  • Monitor patient care outcomes and work collaboratively with the healthcare team to implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate patient care plans, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary teams.
  • Manage staff schedules, conduct performance evaluations, and identify training and development needs.
  • Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new nursing staff.
  • Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and excellence in patient care.
  • Handle administrative duties, including reporting, budgeting, and resource management.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • Minimum of 7 years of post-registration nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Previous experience in a step down facility, rehabilitation, or similar healthcare setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent clinical skills and a thorough understanding of patient care practices.
  • Outstanding communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement.
