Job Title: Addiction Counsellor
Location: Galway, Roscommon, Castlebar
Contract Type: Full-time- Temporary
Salary: HSE Payscale
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counselling to clients with addiction-related challenges.
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and facilitate care strategies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and liaise with healthcare professionals.
- Refer clients to appropriate treatment facilities and support services.
- Maintain clinical records and contribute to service development initiatives.
- Work in accordance with the principles laid out in the National Drug Rehabilitation Framework.
Requirements:
- A Level 7+ qualification in counselling/psychotherapy.
- Accreditation with ACI, IACP, or ICP(or an equivalent body).
- Demonstrate depth and breadth of counselling experience with adults/young people in a variety of settings as relevant to the role.
- Strong knowledge of addiction treatment, dual diagnosis, and child protection policies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Access to own vehicle, and full clean driver’s license.
