Purpose of Your Job
Our client based in Roscrea is recruiting a role that combines elements of both an Accounts Assistant and an Accountant position.
The successful candidate will assist the Accountant with monthly management accounts, financial reporting, and operational finance support. They will also contribute to data analysis, VAT reconciliation, supplier payments, and invoice processing.
This role is integral to the Finance team and involves working closely with colleagues at all levels of the organisation to ensure the smooth operation of financial processes.

Responsibilities
• Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Data analysis to support financial decision-making
• Monthly prepayments and accruals
• Bi-monthly VAT reconciliation and return
• Sales reporting and financial data preparation
• Invoice processing and supplier payments
• Bank reconciliations and cashflow management
• Assist with payroll processing and compliance
• Support the development and efficiency of the Finance function
• Provide financial guidance to operations staff and contribute to the shared service finance team
• Other finance-related duties as required
Essential Requirements
• Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) OR significant experience as an Accounts Assistant
• 2–5 years of experience in a finance/accounting role
• Excellent MS Excel skills (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and reporting tools)
• Strong organisational skills with great attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in VAT reconciliation, accruals, and financial reporting
• A proactive and problem-solving mindset with the ability to improve financial processes
• Ability to manage multiple finance tasks and support operational teams
Desirable Skills
• Experience in payroll processing
• Knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
• Experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
• Previous exposure to shared service finance teams
